The Philippine Embassy in the Lao PDR, headed by Ambassador Deena Joy Amatong, participated in the Lao Food Festival on 25 January 2025 at the Chao Anouvong Park in Vientiane.

At the Philippine booth, Filipino breakfast food such as pandesal, taho, and longanisa were served free to visitors. Adobo, igado, sapin sapin, leche flan, ube halaya, Philippine coffee, dried mangoes, cornick, and other Filipino snacks were also made available for sale. The Filipino Community in Vientiane assisted in preparing and serving the food to the visitors. The Sentro Rizal collection of textiles (T'nalak, Dagmay, and Inabel) were on display.

The Embassy’s participation in the Lao Food Festival is the initial activity in celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relation between the Philippines and the Lao PDR. Watch this space for more events and updates throughout the year!

The Lao Food Festival is an annual event organized by the Lao Women’s Union and the Lao Businesswomen’s Association which aims to help businesswomen in Laos market their products to a wider audience, and to promote traditional Lao cuisine. This year, the Lao Food Festival was held on 22-26 January 2025.
