Department of Social Welfare and Development Undersecretary Adonis Sulit led the Philippine delegation to the 32nd ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Council Meeting and Related Meetings held on 23-26 September 2024 at the Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The Meeting was chaired by Lao PDR Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Suanesavanh Vignaket.

The Participants discussed ways to further develop ASEAN by ensuring sustainable environmental conditions, improving the quality of the workforce, promoting gender equality, and opening up more job opportunities for young people, the disadvantaged and those with disabilities. The Meeting also worked toward the adoption of documents and the report of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community to be presented to ASEAN leaders during the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits.
