The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane, led by Ambassador Deena Joy Amatong, hosted its 2nd Kumustahan for the year which was attended by more than 50 Filipino teachers and school employees working in the Lao PDR.

The event started with Ambassador Amatong sharing upcoming events to be organized by the Embassy including the Independence Day Celebration and the Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar, and reminding the participants on consular matters including the Overseas Voting registration for the 2025 elections.

Other matters discussed by Embassy officials were the Bagong Pilipinas campaign of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., and programs offered by the Philippine government specifically for overseas Filipino teachers. This was followed by a salu-salo of pancit, Pinoy barbeque and halo-halo. The participants also joined the games prepared and conducted by Embassy personnel. In celebration of the National Heritage Month, the Embassy incorporated questions on Philippine culture and heritage in its trivia quizzes and game mechanics. Prizes including Filipino souvenirs and merchandise were awarded to the winners.
