The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane conducted a consular outreach mission and mobile overseas voting registration in Luang Prabang Province, Laos on 08-09 March 2024. This is the Embassy’s first consular outreach mission in Luang Prabang since 2019.
During the outreach mission, Filipinos working at the Luang Prabang Hydropower Project Site and in the town center were able to register or update their Overseas Voting records for the May 2025 elections. Other Filipinos were also able to avail themselves of the Embassy’s passport and notarial services and have one-on-one consultations with the Embassy’s consular team.
Luang Prabang, one of Laos’ most visited provinces, is over 300 KM north of Vientiane Capital. It is home to over 250 Filipinos, 80% of whom work at the Luang Prabang Hydropower Project Site. Other Filipinos in Luang Prabang work in the education, services and hospitality sectors. There are also Filipino consultants working for non-governmental and international organizations.
