Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs and Senior Official H.E. Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro represented the Secretary for Foreign Affairs during the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) Retreat held on 29 January 2024 in Luang Prabang.

Under the Chairmanship of Lao PDR Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Saleumxay Kommasith, the meeting discussed ways to increase the connectivity and resilience of ASEAN, which are the top priorities of Laos’ ASEAN chairmanship.

The meeting also pushed for further cooperation among Member States in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. The participants also discussed other regional and global issues of mutual interest.
