Philippine Ambassador Deena Joy Amatong joined the opening ceremony of the Lao Food Festival 2024 held on 23 January 2024. The Festival was attended by a number of Lao officials including Mme. Suanesavanh Vignaket, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Lao PDR, Mme. Southone Xayachack, Vice President of the Lao National Assembly, Mme. Aly Vongnobountham, President of the Lao Women’s Union, and Mr. Daovone Phachanthavong, Vice President of Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Also present in the ceremony were spouses of Lao leaders and officials.

The Lao Food Festival is held annually and organized by the Lao Businesswomen’s Association to empower businesswomen and small enterprises in Laos to market their products to a wider audience, as well as to promote traditional Lao cuisine and products. This year, the festival features over 180 stalls showcasing regional specialties and handicrafts. The 18th edition of the festival will run until 27 January 2024.
