ASEAN Japan 2022 1

The Philippine Embassy, led by Ambassador Deena Joy Amatong, joined the ASEAN-Japan Festival on 08 December 2023 by showcasing cultural items and handicrafts from the Philippines in its booth.

The Sentro Rizal collection of textiles (T'nalak, Dagmay, Inaul, Landap, and Yakan), wooden dolls featuring various ethnic groups, as well as games and toys were on display.

Embassy personnel gave out tourism brochures and treated the first 50 visitors to sago’t gulaman, dried mangoes and cornick.

The festival was organized by the Embassy of Japan in Vientiane in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation and aimed to promote people-to-people ties between ASEAN Member States and Japan. The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Suansavanh Vignaket, Lao PDR Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism; H.E. Phoxay Khaykhampitoune, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR; and ASEAN Embassies in Vientiane.
