The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane conducted a consular outreach mission in Kaysone Phomvihane, Savannakhet Province, Laos on 16 September 2023. This is the Embassy’s first consular outreach mission in the said province since 2018.
During the outreach mission, members of the Filipino community were able to apply for the renewal of their passports and have one-on-one consultations with the Embassy’s consular team regarding the different services the Embassy offers.
Members of the Filipino community were also able to register or update their Overseas Voting records for the May 2025 elections.
Savannakhet, Laos’ largest province, is 350 KM south of Vientiane Capital. Its capital city, Kaysone Phomvihane, is Laos’ second largest city after Vientiane, and is home to over sixty (60) Filipinos, most of whom work in the hospitality and education sectors.
