The 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment (17th AMME) and Related Meetings were held from 22 to 24 August 2023 at the National Convention Center, Vientiane, Lao PDR.

The Philippine delegation was headed by Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Policy, Planning and International Affairs Atty. Jonas R. Leones. He was joined by DENR Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Marcial C. Amaro, Jr., and other officials from the DENR and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

A delegation from the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity, led by Executive Director Dr. Theresa Mundita S. Lim, was also present during the 17th AMME and Related Meetings.

The 17th AMME served as a venue for ASEAN Member States to discuss cooperative activities which will contribute to achieving sustainable environmental goals within the framework of the 2025 ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint and Community Vision as well as realizing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
