14 January 2022, Vientiane - H.E. Ms. Deena Joy D. Amatong, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of the Philippines to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, presented an open copy of her letter of credence to Mr. Sengmany Daravong, Acting Director General of the Protocol Department of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador-Designate Amatong also met with Mr. Viroth Sundara, Director General of the Asia, Pacific and Africa Division, as well as with H.E. Mr. Phoxay Khaykhamphitoune, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador-Designate Amatong arrived in Vientiane on 19 December 2021. She was Chargé d’affaires, a.i. at the Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Philippines in Vienna, Austria before being appointed as Ambassador to the Lao PDR.

67 years ago today, the Philippines and Laos formally established their diplomatic relations.
