23 December 2021, Vientiane - As part of its activities for the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), the Philippine Embassy in Vientiane invited Ms. Jessica Hicks, Business Coach of Interwoven, to talk about Interwoven and its work to help women in vulnerable situations through “holistic training programs, community development, and love”.

Interwoven is an NGO in Laos which provides job skills training and safe work to women victims of violence. The women and girls under their care are given training in jewelry making, sewing and embroidery, as well as in bookkeeping and customer service. They are also provided counselling and psychosocial support.

In support of Interwoven, the Philippine Embassy ordered face masks featuring the sampaguita and the champa, the national flowers of the Philippines and of Laos, as well as the flags of both countries.
