The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane joined the Launch of the 500-Day Countdown to the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations on 14 December 2019 at the Embassy grounds. The Embassy hung the Quincentennial Commemorations banner at the façade of the Embassy, and played Bagani, the official theme song of the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines.

The 2021 Quincentennial Commemoration, which carries the theme “Victory and Humanity”, memorializes Ferdinand Magellan’s journey to circumnavigate the globe, as well as the Victory of Mactan led by DatuLapu-Lapu.End
