The Philippine Embassy in the Lao PDR joins the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the entire Filipino nation in celebrating the National Indigenous Peoples Month this October.

This year’s theme, “Buháy na Dunong: Pagkamalikhain at Kalikasan” (Living Heritage: Creativity and Nature), highlights how both the creativity of the Philippine indigenous peoples and the richness of nature are able to sustain intangible cultural heritage.

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1906, the National Indigenous Peoples Month is celebrated every year during the month of October in recognition and protection of the rights of indigenous cultural communities.
