In celebration of National Women's Month, the Philippine Embassy in Vientiane wishes to invite Filipinos in Laos to the "Legacies and Standpoints: Filipino Women in Multilateralism”, a symposium highlighting the status and her-story of women in multilateralism on 10 March 2023, Friday, 12H00 (Laos Time).

The symposium, which was organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy- Cultural Diplomacy Division, in collaboration with the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO), is a tribute to the first lady senator of the Republic, Senator Geronima Tomelden-Pecson, an outstanding trailblazer who was instrumental in the creation of UNACOM and the first Filipina to be a member of the UNESCO Executive Board in 1950.
