Members of the FIlipino community line up to register with the Philippine Embassy in Vientiane and receive their Noche Buena food packs. The Embassy distributed food packs to 348 Filipinos from 15 to 20 December 2021.

20 December 2021, Vientiane - In celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos, the Philippine Embassy in Vientiane, Laos gave away 348 Noche Buena food packs to the Filipino community from 15 to 20 December 2021 at the Embassy grounds. The event was in lieu of the annual Paskong Pinoy celebration due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The food packs contained canned goods, rice and other food items, allowing the recipients to be able to whip up a simple Noche Buena meal for their family. 

The event was also an opportunity for the Filipino Community to update the Embassy database on their current status. The Embassy continues to encourage all Filipinos in Laos to register online using this link. 

The Month of Overseas Filipinos is observed every December by virtue of Proclamation No. 276 in 1988 to celebrate the contributions of Filipinos abroad.
